چکیده
Polling-based subscription technologies (like RSS and Atom) have quickly become popular forms of information summary, due to the ease of their creation, and their use of already widespread technologies, XML and HTTP. However, for mobile devices, where extraneous data transfer is particularly undesirable due to power concerns and bandwidth constraints, current newsfeed management methods are insufficient. In this work we present the NOOS system, a proxy-based newsfeed management system that allows mobile devices to monitor a large number of feeds without over-taxing system resources.
